One of the biggest questions I get- what is it, exactly, that Vintners’ Alliance does?
We provide technology and tools that uniquely enable wineries to sustainably expand their direct sales.
How it all started
In the Spring of ’09, a winery approached Pat with a seemingly innocuous question: “We don’t sell ‘red wine’ any more than you sell ‘frying pans’… that leads me to believe there’s something here about brand and luxury sales. How does it all work?”
Out of that conversation came the realization that those tools that are widely and commonly used in other luxury industries are not available to wineries. There were reasons why that was true- the technology behind it is complicated, the wine industry is slow to adopt new things and is fragmented.
But, today, Vintners’ Alliance has solved those challenges (and a few more).
Our Winery Partners work with us for three key reasons:
- Expertise. Simply put, we spend all day working on Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) challenges for wineries. Our team has a unique, highly qualified background with an established track record of success (check out our key management and our board).
-Technology. It’s not just about doing ground-breaking, innovative work (which we do)… we understand that it’s only good if it’s actionable. We don’t care what systems you are on (we have partners working with just about every major website provider in the industry)- our database let’s us work with your existing systems, not against them.
- Proper incentives. We exist to help you sell your wine. That means enabling your team and prioritizing building your brand in a consumers mind, not ours.
Our products help you out in the short, medium, and long term:
- Intent Conversion: Enables wineries to reach their clients online- no minimums, no up front costs, no management on your part. Try it it out- most wineries will see at least a 10% lift in their eCommerce sales
- Analytics & Segmentation: As your direct business grows, you need an understanding of what’s happening and why. Our partners leverage our Analytics tools to save time (no more manually pulling reports) and gain focus (what do I need to look at?). These products allow our Partners to leverage our insights and experience in the DTC realm to create a material increase in their sales.
- Collaborative Database: We help you acquire new customers- those consumers that are most likely to stay with you and build a long term relationship with you
